The Big Bike Adventure

We had a sleep over with Sophie on Friday and something very sad happened. When we went outside to go home, Ian's bike was gone. We looked for it all around Mimi's yard and then, as we walked home we checked all of the other yard's as well. NO BIKE! I couldn't believe that someone would steal a little kid's bike in the middle of the day! What kind of a world do we live in for the love of pete? We drove around looking for it and finally gave up. Then Ian and Sophie decided to make signs to hang on the neighborhood light posts. They wrote up the signs and posted them both. Boy were they sad. I went to bed thinking what a long, boring summer this was going to be without a bike.
Sophie's note.
Ian's note.
This story ends happy though! No, the robber didn't bring the bike back. Mimi found it in her outside food room the next morning. We think one of the Heath children must have moved it. Ian suspects Drew, but I'm not so sure. I guess the moral of the story is: Call and verify with your sister's kids if they moved a blue bike from the front yard and put it in the outside food room before you go all crazy looking for a lost blue bike! The summer is saved!!!!

Sunday Afternoon

I think these faces show pure joy! It's great to be a kid and go have your picture taken by a bunch of flowers isn't it?
Ian y su Mamita Bonita.
Here's one good pose by the flowers. Ian and Sterling thought it was much funnier to pose by the garbage can.
This one's for Brooke. I'm sure she'll love seeing Claire lick the drinking fountain. Hehe.

Easter Fun

Happy Easter
Ian was set on making a face!

Feliz Pascua
Ian insistio hacer una cara.

It was quite a weekend. We hunted for eggs, jumped in the jump house, went to church--all dressed up, and generally goofed around.
Pasamos super bien el fin de la semana. Busquemos huevos, saltamos en una trampolin, fuimos a la Iglesia---como un caballero total, y pintamos mono.

Those biceps are Easter eggs!

Esos biceps son huevos de Pascua.

A New Job

Ian has a lot of jobs. He cleans his room; nearly every other day. He also does the following jobs on a weekly, rotating basis: vacuuming, washing the mirrors, watering the plants, tossing the trash, washing the toilets and helping with the dishes. He hangs laundry out to dry at Julie's and also cleans up after the babies. Mimi paid him last week to fold all of her towels, which he gladly did! He is also collecting bottles so he can make snail traps with Papa. He is quite a worker bee. However, on Saturday, he was introduced to a whole new way to make some money. Shining shoes!

Papa paid him 75 cents for all of his hard work. Ian can't wait to do it again.
Side note: That is a "tattoo" on his chest. After getting the bad news from the dentist that his teeth are rotting out of his head, he received a package from Chile containing 100 pieces of sugar filled gum. Not only that, they all come with tattoos. Joy!
